EyeCode4You is hosting a series of technological education workshops at our office located in the Arts and Business Campus, Drumcondra, Dublin 9.
The Build-a-Website workshop introduces students to the fundamentals of web development and helps them to build their very own personal website.
Ever wanted to build your own website but don't have the technical know how?
Interested in learning web development by gaining hands-on experience with modern website building tools?
The Build-a-Website workshop from EyeCode4You aims to give students a solid understanding of the technology behind the web in addition to providing practical web design and development skills.
Students will design and develop their own multi-page website using the website-building tool Webador, learning design and development techniques from our instructors and setting up industry-standard functionalities like user forms, linking internal and external pages, domain-based email, and more.
By the end of the workshop students will have built their very own CV or info website with their own free Webador domain, meaning they can show off their new site to friends and family and continue working on it after the workshop is finished.
This workshop is perfect for anyone with an interest in web design & development and for anyone looking to gain practical skills in these fields. Upon completion students will receive an overview document of the material covered and be awarded a Certificate of Completion from EyeCode4You.
In this 90-120 minute workshop you'll learn about:
- Web domains (addresses) and web hosting.
- Web languages and their uses.
- Setting up your own websites and using website-building tools such as Webador, WordPress, and others.
- Web design best practices, formatting, and scaling.
- Linking your website to social media.
- Search Engine Optimization (SEO) basics.
- Using blogs for site news and various topics/themes.
- Creating your own personal site accessible on the internet.
Note that in order to participate in this workshop students must have a working email address and optionally a CV for information to base their website on.
